Simply fantastic! The entire Inn is very well kept with each room having their own theme. All the decorations are well thought of, down to the smallest details. Very clean, very cozy. Best B&B we have ever stayed at. Not to mention the homecooked breakfast! We didn't know what to expect but this blew our expectations out of the water! Highly recommended, wish we stayed for longer. Thank you!

What a beautiful old home, character, lots of original features. David is a superb host, helping with your luggage and reservations, providing history and just a friendly guy. Do not miss breakfast, tasty, good portions and the company of other guests in the dining room. We sat in the parlor outfitted with period furnishings and enjoyed a nightcap. Beds comfortable, large washroom, soaker tub. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

It's a beautiful house built in 1900, and the owner is especially kind. All the restaurants in the tiny town were closed (permanently due to Covid), and the other two that survived were busy. 'They weren't accepting people'. So the owner brought up a plate of food for us to eat! Such kindness! Thank you very much!

Arrived at 1230pm to an almost empty restaurant. We immediately ordered coffee and seafood chowder.Coffee came fairly promptly, food was a different matter. After about 20 minutes noticed the man who took our order having what looked like a nice lunch. After 30 minutes we summoned a different waiter who proceeded to ask if we wanted our bill.We explained we had not received our food, where upon he brought us menus to order. They had not placed our food order with the kitchen. We said forget the food and got up to leave and they demanded money for the coffee.Boycott this place.

The last few times I have visited Louisbourg I always came to the lobster kettle because it was a perfectly mediocre meal. This last time I came to visit I ordered crab expecting nothing much. It ended up bring the best crab I have ever had. It was almost melting in my mouth and had a wonderful flavor to go along with it.

It was around 1:30 pm when we got here and the door was locked, turns out the restaurant was opening up for the first day this season. It was supposed to be open at noon. The door to the women's restroom was closed and I went to use the men's but they didn't have a toilet tissue dispenser which I thought was gross so I waited for the women's room. Why was it locked because there were two stalls in there! The paper towel dispenser was broken and the paper towel was sitting on the counter. Menu had no prices on it. I wish we asked for prices because when we got the bill, it was 90! Turns out the fish and chips were 25 each (we both ordered that), the vegan Curry pot pie was 18 and mussels around 18-22 and tiny portions. I put in 50 and went without dinner that night. This was the only meal I had all day. The man behind the counter said that the American dollar was strong in Canada. I don't make much money but I feel that if a meal was made lovingly and worth a lot of money I don't mind paying for that. In this case, my heart felt sorrow for handing over my hard earned cash for a low quality, over priced meal that took around an hour to arrive. Honestly, I felt a little nauseous after eating it, then fatigued and sleepy...then my stomach wanted to use the bathroom. My friend felt ok though. The door was locked and I wish we didn't try to get in and instead move on to the restaurant down the street with the sign that said tour buses welcome.

Now named the "North Star" is owned by celebrity designers "Colin and Justin" A very quaint hotel located in Louisbourg, NS. You are greeted by the amazing Mrs MacDonald who is the gem of this resort. Anything you need is always available. Our room was roomy with a kitchenette and a killer view. The beds were amazing. The Bothy restaurant opens at 6 p.m. with daily dining offered in the main building. You will see Justin and Colin everyday as they are very hands on and working to ensure your best stay. Lovely people! You need to rent a car as Sydney is 37 km away and attractions are also a distance. I am happy to be travelling again and glad I picked this location.I will be visiting again!

The restaurant is amazing. Bright, calming decor, and the food is outstanding. The seafood chowder was the best I've ever had. There are lots of quality items available from local artisans in the gift shop area. I didn't have time to stay over, but will just have to come back with my husband. Colin and Justin, you continue to outdo yourselves. Well done!

We had dinner at The Bothy and it was a wonderful time. The food was very good and the owners are very hands on and you can tell that they are very concerned about the satisfaction of their guests. Food was fresh and hot, the ingredients are locally sourced and the atmosphere is very casual, dress in denim or dress clothes and you will not feel out of place. We will definitely be back before they close for the season!!

This is the nicest and cleanest place ever. I've stayed in alot of nice places but, this one wins hands down. The staff are top notch. They make you feel as if you are apart of the family. The owners, Colin and Justin are so down to earth and great waiters. No deep fried food here. Can't wait to return next year and see all the new renovations. Our stay was A one. Thank You to all.

We stayed at this resort 2 nights (July 28 & 29) and all we can say is WOW! We were greeted by Julie who made us feel at home instantly. We met the new owners Colin & Justin at breakfast the first morning. Their warm personalities made us feel like we were part of the family and the breakfast was delicious and plentiful. We never met Rolanda the housekeeper, however we knew she was there as we returned to an impeccably clean room at the end of the day. The views at this resort were amazing (we stayed in room 2) and had a view of the ocean that did not disappoint. The new owners will be renovating the resort during the off season and the results will only make for a more enjoyable experience. This resort needs more that a 5 star rating but since this is all that is available I give Point of View Suites at 5+. Can't wait to go back

After a two year closure, the Suites have reopened with new owners Colin and Justin. While they intend to renovate during the Fall and Winter they are open for Summer 2021. Louisbourg has suffered an economic decline and these owners are breathing new life into the area. The hotel is well appointed, the breakfast kitchen is top notch for an eggs Benedict (the only one in town) and the service from cleaning, reception, and the owners, is a treat from beginning to end.

After long time hours spent visiting the fortress town of Louisbourg, Jake’s Restaurant and Lounge provides the solution for hunger and thirstiness. This restaurant is famous for its reasonable family prices and great food. It had been listed in Canada for four consecutive years as to “Where to eat in Canada”. Though the restaurant is specialized in seafood delicacies, it still provides varieties of menus that appeal to all tastes. A separate menu is provided for children in this restaurant. Visitors from different parts of the world came to Louisbourg to visit the restaurant since it provides a unique place for recreation and relaxation apart from its great food. The restaurant has a nice stand-up bar that is great for conversation, a large screen satellite TV, poker machines, dartboards, and two standard pool tables. Here are some reviews:

It was the only restaurant open in town. When we arrived at 615 pm we were told they weren’t taking anymore customers as the kitchen was closing. The server was rude and unapologetic about it. All of the hotels are sold out in town, this was the only place to eat but they decided to close at 6:15! Ended up having a gas station dinner.

Where do I start, terrible service with not so nice server. food was sub par at best and barley edible & long wait times. the only good thing I can say is that the young man behind the front desk/store was very nice & pleasant. I've been working in the hospitality industry for over 20 years and the manager of this restaurant should not be happy with the dining room or kitchen staff.

My wife and I were a little worried upon entering the restaurant for the first time with our 2 little girls, but were pleasantly surprised with the service and the food. Don't get me wrong, the place is clean, it's not a dive or anything, it's just plain looking and nondescript. And the food was pretty much standard fair, but our girls loved the soup and the fish and portions were very good (one of my daughter's could only eat half of the small soup we ordered for her). We did have a little trouble at the end trying to figure out who and where to pay because the owner, who was the one we had to deal with at that point, had stepped out for some reason. But all in all an ok to good experience.
